Chocos, a small and extremely poor village in the Peruvian Andes, was hit hard by the devastating earthquake in August 2007.

Shortly following the earliest stage of the earthquake devastation, the local Roche affiliate in Lima, Peru initiated a project after close consultation and collaboration with the Chocos Village leadership. Roche Peru carefully reviewed the priorities and prospects of making a lasting difference by joining forces with this one mountain village. Together they focused on the impact of the earthquake and the existent critical needs of the community. Roche is committed to leveraging the use of company and employee global resources for long-term benefit. The project has already begun to bring new hope to Chocos.
